Is it true that using a nasal aspirator on a baby can cause brain damage?

My 2 month old daughter get's really conjested so i use the nasal aspirator the hospital gave me to clear her nose from the boggers, but one of my girlfriends that also has a child said that i should'nt use it b/c it puts alot of pressure on the brain and can possibley cause brain damage! Is this true?Is it true that using a nasal aspirator on a baby can cause brain damage?
No it's not going to hurt your baby to remove her boogies with an aspirator. Is it true that using a nasal aspirator on a baby can cause brain damage?
I don't get how it would put pressure on the brain unless you are squeezing it while it is inserted in the baby's nose and shooting a bunch of air in there. Even then, I highly doubt it would give the baby brain damage. My husband has sleep apnea and has to use a cpap machine at night when he sleeps. It shoots air up his nose all night, and he doesn't seem any worse off for using it. Don't listen to your friend.
i have used a nasal aspirator a lot on my baby and he is fine, plus all the hospitals use them!

sounds like it is a myth, that is ridiculous!
No. I have heard of mom's incorrectly suctioning the nose where it causes the baby to vomit or gag. Obviously, the moms are doing it wrong and too forceful. Poor babies.
No. If the hospital gave it to you i am pretty sure it is safe to use. i use it on my child and she has no problems!
