Is it true that computer engineers can't become professional engineers?

I heard this from someone and I want to confirm it and if possible the reason why they can't. Thanks! Is it true that computer engineers can't become professional engineers?
I'm not quite sure by what you mean as ';professional'; engineers. Certainly, computer engineers typically find a ';professional'; career. Some go into hardware design, software design, etc. Others sometimes move into more of an electrical engineer-related field.

Here are some other areas they go into:

* Artificial Intelligence -- Develop computers that simulate human learning and reasoning ability.

* Computer Design and Engineering -- Design new computer circuits, microchips, and other electronic components.

* Computer Architecture -- Design new computer instruction sets, and combine electronic or optical components to provide powerful but cost-effective computing.

* Information Technology -- Develop and manage information systems that support a business or organization.

* Computer Theory -- Investigate the fundamental theories of how computers solve problems, and apply the results to other areas of computer science.

* Operating Systems and Networks -- Develop the basic software computers use to supervise themselves or to communicate with other computers. Is it true that computer engineers can't become professional engineers?
I think, the computer engineers can become professional engineers, because the computer more technology than manual work.
No its not true as i m an engineer i dnt think so

they are many professional jobs in each an every field like lang, operating systems etc........
