Is it true that a microwave is tested if a mobile phone is inserted in it and if it does not ring it's good?

I put a mobile in a microwave and I call that mobile. If it does not ring it means that the microwave is safe, if it does ring than the microwave is not safe.Is it true that a microwave is tested if a mobile phone is inserted in it and if it does not ring it's good?
Microwave ovens were invented many decades before mobile phones. Their safety interlocks and systems should not be tested by anything so crude as a mobile phone.

You are presumably thinking of microwave leakage. If the oven's door is properly fitted and the thing is properly earthed then you would have no worries about that.

However, if the oven has been damaged in some other way (e.g. dropped but no visible dents or subject to overheating or moisture) then it could pose an electric shock hazard. Sticking your mobile inside it won't detect that particular danger.

If the phone does not ring it tells you nothing about the oven's safety. There could be dozens of reasons why the phone signal isn't reaching the thing. You can't assume that the oven is safe to use.

If the phone does ring it may just be because you're in a strong signal area. Don't rely on the 5 ';bars'; on the display as an accurate enough indicator of mobile signal strength. It does not mean that the oven is dangerous.

In other words, don't use that as an indicator of a microwave oven's safety. You may also wreck your phone. Is it true that a microwave is tested if a mobile phone is inserted in it and if it does not ring it's good?
no thats complete bulls*hit
Dunno But I`m gonna try it.
I test mine in the fridge, because I travel a lot to the Arctic.
ok dont kno who told u that never heard of it and seems kinda strange to me
That is very true. You phone will not work if you put it in the microwave and your microwave is safe.

I once sent a text message to the wrong person and realised it was to the wrong person. as it was sending i put it in the microwave and left it. The message deffered and i was able to delete it from my outbox a few minutes later

point to note DO NOT TURN THE MICROWAVE ON!!!
technically, if you put any electrical equipment in a microwave, the chances of it ever working again are highly remote!

if, on the other hand you are referring to the lack of signal, its because the microwave is acting like a Faraday cage - w would want a more thorough test than a non ringing mobile - mine only works half the time in the living room!
good luck using your phone after this little experiment
well after trying it out either my belly is very well done, or that theory sucks!
I have been told you can test a microwave for leaks by running a bar of chocolate round the door frame while you are cooking something, if it melts get rid of oven, if it doesn't relax and eat the choc.
