Is it true that in some states you can't drink at midnight on your 21st birthday?

I heard that in some places you have to wait until morning before you become ';legal';, in order to prevent people from binge drinking 21 shots or something. Is this true?Is it true that in some states you can't drink at midnight on your 21st birthday?
The issue in most states is the ID card you carry says ';Under 21 Alcohol Restricted.'; Most bars can not serve you with that ID card. Those that do are simply breaking the law. There are other problems such as: vertical vs. horizontal ID, profile vs mug shot, etc. But most reputable places will follow the law and not serve someone who shows one of these problems. On your 21st birthday just go and get a new ID and all will be well the next night! What's wrong with waiting 12 hours if you've already waited 21 years?!?Is it true that in some states you can't drink at midnight on your 21st birthday?
I think it has more to do with the bartender than the law. Your allowed to consume alcohol at 21, however many states issue ID cards/driver's licenses that are no longer valid on your 21st birthday. Large chains of bars (Friday's, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc etc) run into a lot of issues with police and ';fake id busts'; than your regular corner pub, and therefore are more likely to turn you away on your 21st.
Yes, it is true.. Some idiots, sorry, not supposed to speak ill of the dead, did 21 shots or more, passed out and died. This took place in states where the cutoff was at 1:00 A.M.I'm guessing if the poor kids had until 2 or 3:00 A.M. to do their required 21 shots, it wouldn't be as much of a problem.
This is true. It didn't happen to me but a friend of mine went to a bar after midnight of her birthday morning. The bartender would not serve her! He told her that since it doesn't give your ';birth time'; he couldn't be sure if she was really 21 yet! Crazy, but true...
as a barowner in NY yes i will serve after midnight, but not 21 shots. i keep a pretty good eye on all of my patrons. as i am also the head bartender.
Yes, most places in Kentucky will not let you. I use to be a manager at Applebee's, and we were told by the ABC that we were not suppose to serve them.
Yes, alot of states are making it illegal to drink at midnight because too many people were doing ';power hours'; and dying.
If the bar Allows it you can but most will wait till you have a day or so before serving
No. Completely false.
Unles things have changed, yes it's true. I think insome states you have to wait for the day after your bday.
anything is possible
what they don't know won't hurt you.

I went to a bar on my 21st at 1:00 am and they let me in
