Is it true that small dogs are often meaner than large ones?

I've seen some small dogs with some pretty bad tempers! Is it true that small dogs are often meaner than large ones?
yes i lived next door to and evil chihuahua with the most raspiest bark ever it is so funnily evilIs it true that small dogs are often meaner than large ones?
Neither large or small has to be mean. it is in the way the dog is raised and trained or the lack of. Many dogs have special needs that need to be addressed. Little dogs are in the group. I had a pit bull and my wife a chihuahua and both were friendly and loving. It is like having a child the way your dog turns out is a reflection of how you raise it.
Small dogs are very often not trained properly. Lack of size does not mean they should lack discipline. Big dogs must be trained well to survive. If they bite, they can do serious damage and the owner and the dog are in trouble. Small dogs are often overlooked in this aspect. When they bite, they don't do much damage, so people are more tolerant of it, though they shouldn't be. Little dogs are often spoiled by their owners, leaving them to be aggressive, anxious, obnoxious, little biting machines. So I would say it's not that they are meaner than big dogs, they are just never taught better.
yup because they compensate this for their size. They are small so they are more careful and protective of themselves.
smaller dogs can be more aggressive but a lot of times this is really the owners fault...see being as the dogs are soo small %26amp; cute they tend to get away w more.....as in they are allowed to jump up on people because it doesnt bother the person as the dog only weighs in at like 10 lbs versus a 75 rotty or something.....people tend to disapline smaller dogs less so in the long run thye turn out ot be ill tempered or unruley because they were allowed to get away w it form the get.....bottom line ALL dogs need dicipline %26amp; rules, they are pack animals %26amp; are MUCH happier being a follower than trying to asume the role of pack leader, which should ALWAYS be YOU in your house
yes that is were the term lil dog syndrome comes from. the fact that they over emphases their personality to make up for lake in size. you will find that the smaller dog will rule the house when their are large size deferences
Yes people tend not to train them because they are small.

Go figure!!
From my experience as a dog groomer I have found that small dogs are more fearful. They seem mean but I think the main reason is that they are smaller then everyone else so feel that they have to be dominant over everyone and other larger dogs. it's called small dog syndrome. It's all in the training. i beleie a lot of owners let there small dogs get away with things because they are cute. so they get spoilt.
no, it doesnt matter how big they are it matters the way you trained him. my dog is so nice she lets Everyone wake her up when shes sleeping and she'll just wag her tail.
Do all short people have a napoleon complex?

I'm short... LOL
yes this is true most of the time...
yes......!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!鈥?br>

I don't understand why so many people want these ';tiny'; ';teacup'; things...they are barely dogs.....high strung, more often than not have what I call ';little dog syndrome';, which is rather a ';best defense is an offense'; mentality...and the owners make it worse by not correcting, spoiling, not training....not treating them as dogs
It seems to be true.. I think it's partly breeding, but I think alot of the reason why many of them are so nasty.. is cause they are tiny and people laugh and think it's adorable when a tiny wee puppy acts aggressive.. By not correcting the behaviour and teasing the dog to get him to act that way to show off to friends, or pretending that it isn't a problem.. People make the dogs into aggressive neurotic little dogs..
definately!!! i have a fox terrierXjack russell who weighs in at 7kg who when we have a visitor onto our poperty he transforms into a man eating pitbullxsatin dog, snap snap go the jaws. hes my 5 yr olds best friend when with him theres not a mean bone in him. xlnt guard dogs go for the ankles unlike the bigger rotty ect that can be kicked or beaten to the ground
Depends, their bite is nastier then their bark, however big dogs are pretty mean
