Is it true that there is no tax at big lots?

There is not taxes at my local big lots.Is it true that there is no tax at big lots?
If there is sales tax in your state, then big lots (and every other store) must charge sales tax on all sales.

Some states have a ';sales tax holiday,'; usually sometime in August, so people can get school supplies, school clothes, etc, in time for the new school year. Terms of the tax holiday vary: might be one day or one week, only clothing, only sales under a certain total amount, etc. If your state has a sales tax, did you happen to purchase during a sales tax holiday?Is it true that there is no tax at big lots?
What Ibu guru said is incorrect ';If there is sales tax in your state, then big lots (and every other store) must charge sales tax on all sales';

The store as a retailer is required to pay sales tax by law. The law allows the store to be reimbursed for the sales tax by its customers. The law does not require the store charge sales tax.
No sales tax? It's possible if the store is in an Enterprise zone. Nobody can answer your question unless you tell us which Big Lots store.

I hope this helps.

Additional information:

Maine has a general sales tax of 5%. Food and prescription drugs are exempt.

Take another look at the receipt. You are probably mistaken about Big Lots.
It is just like any other retailer
