Is it true that you burn more calories if you have longer hair?

I have seen people gain weight when they get a hair cut after having long hair for a while. How much nutritions do hair take that go to our body otherwise? Is it true that you burn more calories if you have longer hair?
There is no causal connection between hair length and body size. What you might be seeing is more of the optical illusion of what long hair HIDES and what shorter hair REVEALS. Shorter hair allows you to see a person's features since long hair tends to distract away from the face and guide the eyes elsewhere. Is it true that you burn more calories if you have longer hair?
My mouth literally dropped open when I saw this question.

No. Hair length has NOTHING to do with your weight.
no i think its just coincidence that it happens like that. i have hair down to my butt and i need to work just as hard as anyone else to burn calories.
Hair grows too slowly to have a measurable effect on metabolism. Also, only the roots of your hair are alive. The rest of the length from your scalp to the ends is not living tissue, so takes no calories to upkeep. Cutting or growing your hair will have no effect at all on your weight.
don know

when u are jogging the long hair creates increased wind resistance drag and forces increased muscle stress...leading to burning more calories.

if u like more info on this stop by for a wind tunnel test
Hair no matter what length grows at the same pace throughout your life, just a tad bit faster in winter though. I had long hair and then cut it short so I could have bangs and spike it in the back, the only weight I gained was from the inch or so left I had to grow. Hair is made from the same stuff fingernails are made out of Keratin, which is composed of Glycine and Alanine, amino acids.
No it's not true and very silly. Did you make that up?
Curious...No. Hair length has nothing to do with burning more calories.
NO
No. Hair is something that your body already designates nutrients for so having longer or shorter hair won't have any effect. Go ahead, shave your head bald. It won't hurt u, LOL!

-Be cool.
