Is it true you can catch pokemon from other versions on Pokemon Platinum?

I bought the game 3 days ago because I was told that I could catch pokemon from other versions in the wild, but now I don't see anything different from the other version.





Where do you find other pokemon are they after the pokemon league or what?Is it true you can catch pokemon from other versions on Pokemon Platinum?
What do you mean? Like from your older games specifically or just other games in general? Like a growlithe or whatever? Well after the pokemon league there's this island place you can go to with a BUNCH of older pokemon, but you can get a lot of them just in the wild throughout the game O.OIs it true you can catch pokemon from other versions on Pokemon Platinum?

You have to see all of the pokemon in the Sinnoh Dex at least once. After this happens, go talk to Professor Rowan. Professor Oak should come in and give you the National Dex. When you have the national pokedex, go to the battle ground. To get there get on the boat in snow point city. There is tons of wild pokemon there such as raticate, weepinbell, pidgey, and in the volcano north of the battle ground, There is a lot of old fire types, and a legendary pokemon called heatran, level 50.
