Is it true that there is a new law that requires passports even on domestic flights within the USA?

Please only answer if you are sure. I am getting different answers and even after calling the airport, i don't trust them either. I need a little peace of mind here. First time traveler. From Miami to Maryland in October. Thanks! Is it true that there is a new law that requires passports even on domestic flights within the USA?
No. Absolutely not true.Is it true that there is a new law that requires passports even on domestic flights within the USA?
You only need a passport if you don't have another form of government-issued picture ID within the US. The new law requires a passport when you fly anywhere outside of the US, even to Mexico and Canada (which was the change in the law-- previously you did not need a passport to travel to Mexico or Canada). You absolutely do not need a passport to travel from Miami to Maryland as long as you have a driver's license or another form of state- or government-issued picture ID.
Passports are only required to cross a border into or out of another country. You need a government issued photo ID though such as a drivers license or state ID. That is all you will need. Don't know how you got that incorrect information. May have started because you now need a passport to cross over into Canada.
No. Passports are only required for international travel. Since you are traveling from Miami to Baltimore, there is no need for a passport because it is a domestic flight.

I live in Maryland. Have a great time here!

See site below to read the types of I.D. you may use to fly within the U.S. If you have a passport, you MAY use it as your I.D. form, but it certainly is not required.
