Is it true that just sitting on a yoga ball is good for you?

I've heard that if you sit on a yoga ball while on the computer, or watching tv, or just reading while you sit on one, is good for you.

Is this true?Is it true that just sitting on a yoga ball is good for you?
The truth is, it's better for you than sitting on a ';regular'; chair, provided the height is appropriate for whatever you're doing. By sitting on a yoga ball, you are challenging your core muscles to maintain your balance. This is, in effect, building/strengthening them. Your core muscles are the ones that help maintain your posture. They include your abdomen, lower back, and ';love handles';. Eventually, as your muscles become stronger it won't be much of a challenge. They will however, be in better shape than they were before. I wouldn't recommend using a yoga ball at your computer, unless you can do it such that your knees are bent roughly at a 90 degree angle, and your forearms are parallel with the ground with your wrists slightly bent over the keyboard.(The appropriate posture to have at a computer)

...Otherwise, use it for any seated activity that you can do without sacrificing good posture or body mechanics. Is it true that just sitting on a yoga ball is good for you?
yeah! It will acutely work your abdominal muscles... It also works on your posture which is a plus! You can buy a plastic ring with wheels on it on line which keeps the ball from moving when you get up, but when you sit down you can move by the rolling wheels. Food for thought: ask your employer if you could bring it to work to sit on during the day.
LOL no really nothing is good for weight loss
